              Asian
Formula Renault 2000 Champion Rodolfo Ávila has earned for
himself a Formula 3 test - thanks to his consistent superb performance
in the Asian arena. The young Macanese driver will be at the Pembrey
Circuit on August 18 - 19 to test Carlin Motorsport's new model
Dallara Mugen-Honda. Ávila, currently the pride of Macau,
will use the test to evaluate possibilities aimed at enhancing his
motorsport career. The success in motor racing comes from being
competitive both as a team and a driver. As the youthful Ávila
has never driven an F3, the choice of a competitive as well as prestigious
team was essential. Best fitting this requirement is Carlin Motorsport,
who have undertaken numerous programs to train young drivers over
the last five seasons. In its roster of drivers who have previously
tested and trained with Carlin Motorsport include Jenson Button,
Takuma Sato, Anthony Davidson and Kimi Raikkonen.

"I am really pleased to have been given this opportunity. I
believe the test I will have with Carlin Motorsport is a positive
move towards my career as the team is undoubtedly the best team
              in British Formula 3 racing. It's a valuable step that I wouldn't
want to pass on", said the 17-year old Macau star.
Currently in the newly-formed Macau-based Asia Racing Team (ART
Motorsports, Ltd.), Ávila continues to stand within the first
three spots of both the China and Asian Formula Renault 2000 Championships.
This time, no longer just hoping to get more experience, but have
set the goal of renewing his championship titles. In line with this
is his careful preparation for the resumption of his previous contact
with the highly competitive world of European competitions.
